Juan Williams, appearing on yesterday’s Fox News Sunday, confirmed what every conservative already knows: the mainstream media is in the tank for Obama. Via Newsbusters, we learn that Williams said:
If you were going to [Obama] events during the primaries, what you saw was that the executive editors and the top people at the networks were all rushing to Obama events, bringing their children, celebrating it, saying they were, there’s this part of history.
Yes, that’s right. The top people at the networks were bringing their children to Obama campaign events and celebrating it. Now, every citizen has the right to vote for whomever they please, even journalists. But they lose all credibility when their “celebration” of a candidate carries over into their work, which we are seeing in abundance during this election cycle. Yes, Juan has seen the bias up close and recognizes it for what it is.
However, Juan does get it wrong when he says:
I think people understand the drama of what Senator Obama represents and, in some ways, I think, the McCain campaign has not been sufficiently smart in maneuvering themselves to present their candidate and what he has done and his story, his heroism, his willingness to sacrifice, I don’t think they’ve done a very good job of advertising it.
Well, Juan, what exactly is the McCain campaign to do when the MSM ignores their story and instead focuses on the cost of Sarah Palin’s wardrobe? The alternative media can only do so much and reach so many people; if the MSM is going to blatantly disregard the important issues (such as BOs leftist radicalism), I don’t think they’ll be receptive to McCain’s story of heroism and service to country. The media is showing their true colors, and we may be watching the demise of the MSM by their own hand.
But kudos to Juan for showing a modicum of sense.
